About Harriet
I’ve been teaching private and group piano lessons to students, ages seven through adult, beginners to advanced levels, since 1985. I have a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Westminster Choir College and a Master of Arts degree from Rutgers University. I also did post graduate study in piano and organ at the University of Michigan School of Music and graduate study in organ at Hartt School of Music, West Hartford, Connecticut.
I taught private and group piano lessons in the Music Preparatory Department of Elon University, Elon, North Carolina and for Music and Arts in Gaithersburg, Maryland. I’ve also maintained private piano studios in New Jersey, Michigan, Maryland and Pennsylvania.
In addition to teaching piano, I’ve served in churches in Michigan, Connecticut, and Maryland as a music director, chorale director, accompanist, and organist.
I continue to expand my teaching skills through my memberships in Music Teachers National Association, Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association and Mainline Music Teachers Association.

Location
I teach in my home studio in West Chester near Longwood Gardens. I also teach online on Zoom, which I’ve done since 2020. A student can take some or all their lessons online. Online lessons provide a great alternative to in-person lessons, eliminating travel time and are easy to schedule. A student needs a laptop with a compatible internal or external camera and access to Zoom.
